I’ve started a new website to host my large format journey @ LargeFormatFilm.com
The site is brand new, so the content is admittedly thin at the moment — but that’s about to change. My goal is to use both of these websites as a comprehensive home for everything I’ve learned shooting film over the years, along with the images that have come out of that journey. I’m currently working across a wide range of formats: medium format film, medium format digital, 4×5 large format, and 8×10 large format. Each serves a distinct purpose in my workflow — large format for its unmatched detail and the deliberate, meditative process it demands, and medium format for its versatility and that beautiful balance between resolution and portability.
On the digital side, I shoot 35mm with both Nikon Z and Leica M systems, which cover everything from street work to faster-paced assignments. I gave up 35mm film many years ago after coming to a simple realization: if I’m going to go through the effort of loading, metering, developing, and scanning film, it might as well be on a larger negative where the payoff is truly worth it. So here I am — too many cameras, too many formats, and absolutely no regrets.
